Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers. If yours is not here, just ask us.

What happens at the free first consultation?

It is a short introductory meeting. We get to know each other, you tell us briefly what brings you here and what you hope to get from working with a psychologist, and you can ask anything about how counselling works. There is no obligation: afterwards you decide, in your own time, whether you would like to continue.

How do online sessions work?

Sessions take place by video call, so you can join from wherever you feel comfortable. After booking, you receive a confirmation email with the details of your appointment. All you need is a stable internet connection, headphones if possible, and a quiet place where no one will interrupt you.

Will what I say stay confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a basic principle of our work: what you share in sessions stays between you and your psychologist. We explain the rare limits of confidentiality (for example, when someone's life is in immediate danger) at the first meeting.

To book, we ask only for the contact details needed to arrange your session. Telling us why you are booking is optional; if you do, that note is stored encrypted. You can read more in our Privacy policy.

Can I cancel or reschedule a session?

Yes. You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before the session starts. If less than 24 hours remain, please contact us directly and we will find a solution together.

How much do sessions cost?

The first introductory consultation is free. Current prices for individual sessions, the one-off in-depth consultation and session packages are listed on the Services and prices page.

Prices are set separately in Polish złoty, euros and Ukrainian hryvnias; they are not converted at an exchange rate. The currency follows the language of the site, and you can change it manually.

What is Transactional Analysis?

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a psychological approach developed by Eric Berne. It looks at how we relate to ourselves and others through three ego states (Parent, Adult and Child). It helps you notice recurring patterns in relationships and decisions, and gradually change the ones that no longer serve you. TA is our main approach, and we combine it with methods from other approaches when they suit you better.

Which languages do you work in?

Each psychologist's profile on the Our psychologists page lists the languages she works in. If you are not sure, just ask at the free first consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your situation and on you, so there is no single answer. Some people come with one specific question, and a one-off consultation is enough; others prefer regular sessions over several months. We discuss this together at the first meeting, and you can decide at any point whether to continue.

Can I choose my psychologist?

Yes. When booking, you can choose a specific psychologist or simply take the earliest free time with either of us.

What should I do in an emergency?

MiraDos is not an emergency service, and online consultations are not suitable for an acute crisis. If you or someone near you is in immediate danger, call 112 straight away. Crisis helpline numbers for your country are listed at the bottom of every page.
